Lake Park Area Historical Society

The Lake Park Area Historical Society meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Historical Museum. The Museum is also open the third Saturday of each month (9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.) and the first Wednesday of each month (October-April, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) for coffee and treats - free and open to the public. In addition to the Museum building (formerly Nelson Drug Store) the Historical Society also maintains the one-room schoolhouse (located just east of the Lake Park Legion). This is one of the last remaining schoolhouses in Becker County.

Every September, during Pumpkin Fest, the Historical Society hosts a pie and ice-cream social at the Historical Museum to raise funds for the organization's preservation efforts. Currently, the LPAHS is collecting donations of historic items and is in the process of rotating collections in the Museum and other display sites (Sunnyside Care Center, the Lake Park City Center, and the Lake Park Legion). If you would like to donate a collection item, make a monetary contribution to the Historical Society (a 501C3 organization), or be a part of these important preservation efforts, please contact a board member (Katie O'Connell, katie.oconnell@loretel.net or John Madson, jmadson@loretel.net).
